Bush and hedge trimming in Tyler, shaped back until the house shows again

Hedges, foundation shrubs and overgrown beds shaped back so the house shows again.

Chapter 01

When the shrubs take over the house

In Tyler the growing season is long and wet enough that foundation shrubs add a foot of green before anyone notices. Within a year or two the hedge is pressing on the window glass, brushing the siding and crowding the walk until you turn sideways to reach the front door.

Overgrown beds are the other half of it. A shrub planted to sit under a window has become the window. Saplings and vines fill the gaps, and the bed stops looking planted and starts looking abandoned. A bed in that state needs sorting before it needs a haircut.

How Polo's crew cuts it back

Polo usually comes out and looks before he quotes, and the estimate is free. On the day the crew works from the windows and the walk outward, so the house and the path come clear first, then shapes each shrub back to a clean outline. Growth too woody for a light trim gets cut with the chainsaw.

When a bush needs to come out instead of coming back, the crew takes it out. One Google reviewer described a large oak trimmed and numerous bushes removed. The cut growth is loaded on the utility trailer behind the pickup and hauled away, and the backpack blower clears the walk and drive behind it.

Chapter 03

Keeping the line once it is back

A shaped hedge holds its line for a while and then drifts. You can tell it is due when new growth pokes well past the old cut, branches touch glass or brick, or the walk starts narrowing again. Shrubs that bloom in spring are best trimmed soon after the flowers fade.

If Polo already mows your yard, mention the hedge when he texts that he is on the way. Or send a photo and your address to (903) 245-6122 and he will tell you what the shrubs need.

Amie on Google: “Friendly, great customer & knowledgeable on lawn care.Always does an awesome job.If he has a full schedule , he always try to fit you into the schedule. Polo is the best!”

Four lines the trim is aiming for

Every shrub on the job gets measured against the same four sight lines. They are what you notice from the sidewalk, and they are the reason a trimmed bed reads as cared for instead of just shorter.

A bed that is past trimming moves over to flower beds and mulch, and whatever comes off leaves with the crew through trash haul off.

Windows. Walk. Wall. Line.

Windows
Glass clear of branches, so daylight gets back into the room.
Walk
Wide enough to carry a grocery bag without turning sideways.
Wall
Shrubs pulled off the siding and brick so nothing rubs the house.
Line
Tops and sides cut to one clean outline, not a ragged edge.
