Tree trimming in Tyler, from limbs off the roof to saplings out of the bed

Limbs off the roof and driveway, oaks raised and thinned, saplings cut out of beds.

Chapter 01

What the limb is hanging over

A limb that reaches the roofline is a problem waiting on the next storm. East Texas wind and rain are hard on oaks, and a limb that looked fine in May can land on a driveway in June. The quieter version is just as common: branches scraping shingles and a canopy so dense it shades out the grass below.

The other tree job is small trees. Saplings come up in the bed, behind the shrubs and along the fence line, and a few seasons later they are trunks. The photo at the top of this page is one of those beds, shrubs and saplings tangled together with a chainsaw sitting on the lawn.

How the crew works a tree

Polo usually comes out and looks at the tree before he quotes, and the estimate is free. The crew works from the ground with a chainsaw. Limbs come off the roofline and the driveway, low branches are raised so you can walk and mow underneath, and dense growth is thinned out. Saplings are cut at the base and out of the bed.

Everything that comes down goes on the trailer. Guadalupe Rodriguez wrote about exactly that, how fast the crew hauled away a fallen tree limb on her driveway. Cut limbs are loaded onto the utility trailer behind the pickup and taken away, so the driveway is clear when the truck leaves.

Chapter 03

Telling when a tree is due

Watch for branches within arm's reach of the roof, limbs drooping over the drive, dead wood in the canopy and saplings thicker than a pencil. The best time to ask about a tree is before the storm, not after it, though the crew also takes the call once a limb has already come down.

Call or text (903) 245-6122 with your address and a photo of the tree. Customers say Polo texts when he is on the way and often sends a picture of the finished work, so you will see the cleared driveway before you walk out to look at it.

How a limb call goes

The thread on the right is the shape of a visit as customers describe it. The customer message is a real Google review. The green messages describe what happens on Polo's side, the arrival text and the photo of the finished job that his customers mention.

Limbs that come down are part of trash haul off, and a tree that has taken over a whole corner of the lot is a job for brush and lot clearing.
